Early blight of tomato is caused by the fungus Alternaria solani and characterized by large dark circular to angular spots with concentric rings, usually appears in older leaves. Septoria leaf spot is caused by Septoria lycopersici and characterized by small dark spots and can cause rapid defoliation. Anthracnose is caused by Colletotrichum spp and infect on fruit. The anthracnose symptom is characterized by sunken circular spot on fruits. All these fungal pathogen can survive in plant residues. All three diseases are favored by warm temperature (17 to 27°C) and longer wet period.
